Ronald I. Paltrowitz offers his clients an impressive wealth of legal skills and knowledge, with over thirty-six years experience in corporate and business law and commercial litigation and arbitration.
He spent the formative years of his legal career on Wall Street, serving under the supervision of some of New York’s finest legal minds. These years served basically as a legal “apprenticeship,” where he honed his skills in the fine art of taking depositions, making court appearances, trying cases before both judges and juries in state and federal courts, developing case strategies, and conducting negotiations for successful results.
As a business owner himself—and having served as General Counsel for several small businesses throughout his career—Ronald understands first-hand the legal issues and challenges faced by small companies, such as forming contracts and resolving disputes. He provides his clients an in-depth knowledge and expertise in substantive contract law and a keen eye for drafting agreements that avoid conflicts, gained from his many years of experience litigating contract disputes for major domestic and multinational corporations.
In addition, Ronald has considerable courtroom experience. He has tried commercial cases at all court levels in New York, as well as California, Illinois, Massachusetts and Michigan, and has represented both claiming and responding parties in numerous arbitration hearings. His clients have ranged from one person businesses to multinational companies.
An active member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Ronald is Vice-President and General Counsel, on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, serves on the Legislative and Program Committees, is a registered lobbyist for the Chamber and its members, and writes the “Legal-Ease” column for Business Matters, the Chamber’s quarterly publication.
Ronald is an avid sailor and celestial navigator—a traditional sailing method that uses the sun, moon and stars for guidance. His other interests include golf, ballroom dancing, and wine collecting. Prior to beginning his law career, he served in the U.S. Army where he was assigned to the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 8th Infantry Division, in Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
